Already a top contender nationally in the 5,000 meter run, Hillsdale College sophomore
Allison Kuzma used her first race at home in the 2025-26 indoor season to stake her claim in another event on Friday.
The Chargers hosted the annual Wide Track Classic, and Kuzma had the biggest result, rolling to a victory in the 3,000m run in 9:48.68 to hit a NCAA DII provisional qualifying mark. The sophomore's time is the eighth-fastest in program history in the event, and currently ranks 11th nationally. Kuzma already ranks sixth in the nation in the 5K, giving her potentially two events to choose from at the NCAA DII Indoor Championships in March.
Kuzma also took third in the mile in a new personal best of 5:05.32, ahead of teammate
Savannah Fraley who placed sixth in 5:20.33. Three more Chargers also placed behind Kuzma in the 3K, with junior
Eleanor Clark taking runner-up honors in a personal best time of 10:34.57 and freshmen
Grace Tykocki placing sixth (11:03.27) and
Taylor Klimp placing seventh (11:19.47) as well.

Francesca Federici finishing third (26.04),
Anna Lamoreaux placing fourth (26.06) and

Regan Wight placed second in the weight throw with a mark of 16.41 meters, and

In the jumps,

Katie Kennedy placed fourth in the triple jump (10.38 meters) and Schmoll took fourth in the long jump with a personal best mark of 5.21 meters, while
Baelyn Zitzmann placed seventh in the long jump with a distance of 5.08 meters.
Ameera Wilson placed eighth in the 800m run for the Chargers in 2:33.15, and Hillsdale's 4x400m relay team of Krutzik,
Evelyn Overlease, Brock and
Gianna Lodice took second in 4:08.08.
The Chargers have a huge invitational next weekend, as Hillsdale will take a contingent down to Indianapolis for a meet that should include significant Division I competition. Several Chargers also will compete in the Jet's Pizza Invite hosted by Saginaw Valley State on Friday and Saturday as well.
