As Hillsdale College junior
Ane Dannhauser continues to add to her singles winning streak this spring, the rest of the region is taking notice.
Dannhauser was named the G-MAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday, her third award this season and the eighth of her career, after taking down Ferris State's Madeline Peisley (6-4, 7-5) and Davenport's Skye Vandeleur (6-4, 6-3) in matches this weekend. Those two victories were her sixth and seventh straight wins at No. 1 singles to start the 2026 spring campaign for Hillsdale, and improve her record in singles to 15-3 overall in the 2025-26 season including the fall. She's also 6-1 at No. 1 doubles to date with partners
Megan Hackman and
Briana Rees, proving herself to be one of the top players in the G-MAC so far.
Hillsdale had high hopes for Dannhauser in her third season, after earning back-to-back first team All-G-MAC honors and the 2024 G-MAC Freshman of the Year award in her first two seasons with the Chargers. She's been even better as a junior, with sterling singles and doubles records despite matching up against the opponent's best in every match. Dannhauser had an excellent fall campaign as well, capping the fall season with Hillsdale's best ever A draw singles run in the ITA Women's Tennis Midwest Regional, reaching the semifinal round and falling only to the top-ranked player in the draw, Eleanor Coleman of Rockhurst.Â
Hillsdale is 5-2 overall and the Chargers and Dannhauser will look to pull an upset on the road this weekend, as the Chargers battle nationally-ranked Wayne State in Detroit at noon on Saturday.
