Hillsdale's Allison Kuzma named G-MAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week (March 30-April 6)

Allison Kuzma has brought home many awards already in a storied career that's not even halfway over.

The Hillsdale College women's track and field athlete added another on Monday, earning G-MAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors from the conference office. It's Kuzma's second weekly conference award of the season, and the third of her career.

Kuzma received the honor thanks to another epic race in a string of them at the Stanford Invitational on Friday. Racing against primarily top division I competition, Kuzma won her heat of the 10K in 33:10.83, shattering the Hillsdale school record of 34:05.75 set by Kristina Galat at the same meet in 2016 by nearly a minute, and the G-MAC record of 33:57.06 set by Findlay's Hannah Thompson in 2022. It's the 15th fastest 10K ever run at the NCAA DII level and it currently ranks second in NCAA DII at this point in the season.

Kuzma, the indoor national champion in the 5,000m run and a three-time All-American, now holds the indoor 5K and outdoor 10K Hillsdale and G-MAC records, and will take aim at the outdoor 5K records later this season.

Next up for Kuzma and the Chargers is the Al Owens Invitational this weekend, hosted by Grand Valley State on Friday and Saturday in Allendale, Michigan.
