2026 CSC Academic All-District Softball Teams
Along with keeping its streak of 30-plus win seasons intact, the Hillsdale College softball team continued another impressive tradition in 2026 -- being well-represented on the CSC Academic All-District teams.
The Chargers had the maximum of five athletes, all starters and important contributors, earn the honor from College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon. In order to be considered for CSC Academic All-District honors, an athlete must be either a starter or a meaningful contributor, and carry a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA. CSC Academic All-District awards are a part of the CSC Academic All-America program, which has been awarding elite scholar-athletes for their accomplishments since 1952.
Two of Hillsdale's honorees are repeat Academic All-District winners, as seniors
Anna Chellman and
Emma Sather received the award for the second-straight season.
Chellman, who graduated from Hillsdale this spring with honors and a degree in biochemistry this fall, was a multi-year starter for the Chargers who played every game of the 2026 season at third base for Hillsdale. The senior hit .309 with 13 doubles, three home runs and 30 RBIs as a key part of a Hillsdale lineup that set multiple offensive records in 2026, while providing solid defense at the hot corner as well. Chellman is attending Case Western University this fall to pursue a master's degree in nursing.
Sather spent four seasons as Hillsdale's every-day centerfielder, starting all 52 games in 2026 as another linchpin in the lineup for Hillsdale while also graduating with honors and a degree in biochemistry this spring. A slap-hitter who did serious damage on the basepaths, Sather hit .279 for the Chargers in 2026 with 19 stolen bases while providing sensational defense in the outfield. She leaves Hillsdale ranked second all-time in program history in stolen bases with 77 and seventh in runs scored with 115, and will attend medical school in the fall.
Three other athletes received Academic All-District honors for the first time.Â
Junior
Medleigh Danchak was recognized after a breakthrough season that saw her become an every-day starter at first base, and receive second team All-G-MAC honors for her play. Danchak started 50 games for Hillsdale, hitting .294 with five doubles, three triples, four home runs and 18 RBIs. She's also a History major at Hillsdale who's on track to graduate with honors next spring.
Fellow junior Syndey Davis also made the Academic All-District team. In her third year starting at shortstop for Hillsdale, Davis started 47 games with a .360 batting average, including 12 doubles and 36 RBIs as one of the Chargers' top hitters, earning second team All-G-MAC honors. She's also a Biology major at Hillsdale who's on track to graduate with honors next spring.
Last but not least is sophomore
Nathalie Hagle, who excelled at multiple positions for Hillsdale in 52 starts in her first season this past spring. Splitting her time between catcher and right field, Hagle batted .323 with 14 doubles, eight home runs and a Hillsdale-leading 48 RBIs, on her way to second team All-G-MAC and second team NFCA All-Midwest Region honors. She's also put up an impressive performance in the classroom, and is also on track to graduate with honors at the halfway point in her collegiate career.
