It was a successful and consistent weekend for the Charger tennis team.
A long road trip through the northern part of Michigan had a beginning, middle and end that were identical to one another - a 6-3 win for Hillsdale College.
Sunday's conclusion to the road trip came over Saginaw Valley State University, and was the Chargers' fifth win in their past six matches. Hillsdale is now 5-5 overall and in the GLIAC, and returns home for three matches next weekend.
Sophomore Lindsay Peirce wrapped up a perfect run of singles matches for the weekend with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles. Peirce has won five straight singles matches, catching fire at the same time the team has.
Sophomore Sydney Delp was victrious at both No. 2 singles (6-4, 6-0) and No. 1 doubles, teaming up with Morgan Delp for an 8-5 win. Sophomore Rachel Blaauw was also a double winner for the Chargers, picking up a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles and an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles, with the help of freshman Dana Grace Buck.
