Ane Dannhauser continues to excel for the Hillsdale College women's tennis team, and is picking up in 2026-27 where she left off with another honor from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
Dannhauser was named the G-MAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday afternoon after an excellent performance at the Davenport Invitational over the weekend. It's Dannhauser's ninth weekly conference honor in a decorated career now in its fourth season.
The senior went 5-1 in Grand Rapids, bringing home the A bracket doubles title with partner
Briana Rees thanks to two victories over teams from host Davenport (8-6, 8-4) and a win over a team from Northwood (8-2) on the way to the title. She also placed third in the A bracket singles draw with wins over Purdue Northwest's Isabella Array (6-1, 6-1) and Davenport's Sienna Opray (6-2, 7-5).
A three-time first team All-G-MAC honoree entering this season, Dannhauser is one of the top players in the conference and a key contributor for Hillsdale as the Chargers hope to contend for the program's first conference title since 2021. Her pairing with Rees in doubles is one of the best in the Midwest, spending most of the 2025-26 in the national doubles rankings and off to a 5-1 start again in 2026-27.
Dannhauser and the Chargers now head into the key event of the fall, the ITA Midwest Regional, beginning on Oct. 10 back in Grand Rapids. Dannhauser will be a contender to qualify for the expanded ITA Cup, the de facto NCAA DII singles and doubles championship, with a strong performance in the regional after making the A bracket semifinal in singles in 2025.
