A home tripleheader got off to an early start with the Charger women's tennis team finally playing a home match.

Despite winning two doubles flights, Hillsdale College lost a 7-2 decision to Grand Valley State University. Hillsdale will host Ferris State at 1 p.m. Sunday to continue its homestand.

The No. 1 doubles team of Morgan and Sydney Delp were 8-5 victors, while the No. 2 doubles combo of Dana Grace Buck and Lindsay Peirce also won by the same score. Both matches were hard fought, but the Charger players hung tough and won some competitive points throughout their matches. 

Two of the singles matches went into a tiebreaker in one of the sets, but the Lakers came out on top in each case.
