After a lengthy stretch of matches on the road, the Hillsdale College women's tennis team played at home Thursday afternoon, losing a 6-3 non-conference matchup with NAIA Northwestern Ohio at the Margot V. Biermann Center.
The Chargers are 6-5 on the season and will host Wayne State in the GLIAC fall finale Friday afternoon.
This match featured two three-set decisions in the singles flights that both went the Racers' way, after Hillsdale won the opening set. Hillsdale lost two of the three doubles matchups as well.
Freshman sensation Halle Hyman kept rolling at No. 1 singles, easily winning a 6-1, 6-3 decision.
Amberley Bailey, one of three soon-to-be graduates honored at senior day before the match, won for the second time in her career, coming at No. 6 singles in a 7-6, 6-3 victory.
The No. 3 doubles team of Sydney Delp and Jada Bissett (pictured) brought home an 8-5 victory.
