The Hillsdale College women's tennis team was back in action Saturday afternoon, playing inside the Marogt V. Biermann Center.
The Chargers pulled out an 8-1 win over visiting Huntington, improving their record to 4-10 on the season.
Although the final score was fairly lopsided, there were a number of competitive matches in the higher flights in this match. It started with junior Lindsay Peirce at No. 1 singles, who battled back to post a 5-7, 6-3, 10-6 win in her first match at that flight.
Junior Sydney Delp won a close two-set match at No. 2 singles 7-5, 6-3. At No. 3 singles, senior Morgan Delp won a hard-fought three-set match 5-7, 6-2, 10-4.
Sophomore Jada Bissett cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles, while junior Rachel Blaauw also coasted to a win, 6-1, 6-2.
Morgan Delp and Dana Grace Buck teamed up for the first time in their careers, winning at No. 2 doubles 8-1. Sydney Delp and Lindsay Peirce were 8-2 winners at No. 1 doubles, while Amberley Bailey got into the win column, teaming up with Bissett for an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
