Tiffin Hands Chargers First Loss

Box score

The Charger women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday afternoon at home, dropping a 7-2 decision to Tiffin University.

Both teams are now 2-1 on the season. Hillsdale will compete at home once again at 1:00 Sunday afternoon, hosting the University of Findlay.

The Dragons played tough, mostly error-free tennis, while forcing Hillsdale into mistakes at key times. A couple of Hillsdale's losses were tightly played, particularly in matches involving freshman Halle Hyman.

Hyman played tough and very well in many spots, but lost two close decisions. She fell in three sets at No. 1 singles, and lost 9-7 at No. 3 doubles with teammate Julia Formentin.

Freshman Corinne Prost was a double winner on the day, prevailing 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and teaming up with junior Dana Grace Buck for an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles.
