Women's Tennis Team Back on Track

Box score

Saturday afternoon, the Hillsdale College women's tennis team took a punch on the chin from Tiffin University. Sunday, the Chargers showed they know how to counterpunch, although it was a different opponent.

After suffering a 7-2 defeat to Tiffin for its first loss of the season, Hillsdale turned the tables in the form of a 7-2 win over the University of Findlay Sunday afternoon at home. The Chargers are now 3-1 on the season.

One of the most improved aspects of the 2015 Charger team is its depth, and that was apparent in the win over the Oilers. In singles and doubles flights No. 3 and lower, Hillsdale earned six of its seven wins in the dual matchup.

Freshman Corinne Prost (pictured) capped off a perfect weekend with wins at No. 5 singles (6-1, 6-2) and at No. 2 doubles (8-2), joined by junior Dana Grace Buck. Prost is 6-1 already in her young career.

Freshmen Halle Hyman and Julia Formentin cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles, while Hyman earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles.

Seniors Lindsay Peirce and Sydney Delp each won in straight sets at No. 3 and 4 singles, respectively, while freshman Madeline Bissett breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles.
