The Hillsdale College women's tennis team ran into a buzzsaw Saturday afternoon, dropping an 8-1 decision to Grand Valley State University in Allendale.

Hillsdale, now 3-2 on the season, wraps up this weekend's road trip at Ferris State Sunday.

All three doubles flights were closely contested. Sydney Delp and Lindsay Peirce lost 8-4 at No. 1 doubles, while Dana Grace Buck and Corinne Prost lost a heartbreaker, 9-8, with a 7-3 tiebreaker score. At No. 3 doubles, Halle Hyman and Julia Formentin also lost a tight match, 9-7.

Prost kept up her strong singles play this season, winning a 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 4 singles. She is 7-2 overall and 4-1 in singles play.
