3 Chargers Earn All-GLIAC Women's Tennis Honors

2016 All-GLIAC Release

Three members of the Hillsdale College women's tennis team earned all-conference accolades, at the conclusion of the conference postseason tournament in Midland Sunday.

Sophomore Halle Hyman (pictured in the middle) was named First-Team All-GLIAC for the second year in a row. Joining her on the all-conference teams was freshman Katie Bell, named Second-Team, and senior Dana Grace Buck, who earned honorable mention honors.

For Bell and Buck, it was the first time in their careers they have been named All-GLIAC.

Hyman faced the toughest slate of matches in the GLIAC, competing at No. 1 singles and doubles all season. She had a 6-5 record in singles competition, which was highlighted by a GLIAC Tournament win over Saginaw Valley State. She finished the season strong, going 4-1 in her last five singles matches.

Bell was a revelation for the Chargers in her rookie season, compiling an aggregate record of 14-8 on the season. She went 6-3 as a singles player, and had an 8-5 record in the doubles flight. She opened her career with five straight wins at singles, and won her first four straight doubles matches.

Buck emerged into one of the most effective doubles players in Hillsdale College women's tennis history. She finished her career playing her very best tennis, winning eight of her last nine doubles matches, including a perfect 3-0 record in the conference tournament. She finished her career with 49 doubles victories.
