The Charger women's tennis team continues to fight to the limit with contending teams throughout the GLIAC, but Friday afternoon, came up just short.
Hillsdale and Michigan Tech played several very competitive matches in a result that ended up going the Huskies' way, 6-3, in a conference contest played at the Mary Jane Delp Courts. Hillsdale is 3-4 overall and in the conference, and will host Lake Superior State at 11 a.m. Saturday.
One matchup that was not close was the one played at No. 2 singles, as freshman Katie Bell returned to action and recorded an impressive 6-2, 6-1 win.
Senior Dana Grace Buck picked up a pair of victories and looked strong in both singles and doubles play for the Chargers. Both of her matches were long ones, as she pulled out a 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles, and teamed up with sophomore Madline Bissett for a 9-8 tiebreaker victory.
