The Hillsdale College women's basketball team suffered through another difficult night shooting in a 68-41 home loss to first-place Michigan Tech University Thursday night.
The Chargers fell to 9-13 overall and 6-12 in the GLIAC.
Facing one of the toughest teams in the conference, the Chargers shot 20.8 percent for the game, making 16 of 52 field goal attempts as a team. The team was held to single-digit scoring in the first and third quarters, and was outscored in all four quarters of the game by the Huskies.
The game was tied 6-6 at the 4:18 mark of the first quarter, but the Chargers never led, as MTU finished the quarter on an 11-2 run to grab control of the game.
The 41 points scored by the Chargers were a season-low, and no player cracked double figures in scoring for the home team.
Sophomore center Allie Dittmer had 9 points and 4 rebounds, while freshman guard Allie Dewire grabbed a career-high 9 rebounds to lead the team. Brittany Gray had 6 points and 6 rebounds off the bench, and Makenna Ott contributed 7 points in a reserve role.
