Women's Tennis Team Falls to Pair of Florida Teams

Box score

It's not all just fun and games for the Hillsdale College women's tennis team during Spring Break week in Florida.

The Chargers are using this week off from classes as a "working vacation" in the form of matches that count towards the team's record, taking on highly ranked opponents.

Hillsdale lost to host Palm Beach Atlantic, a nationally ranked team, 7-2 Monday evening in Florida.

The two wins by Hillsdale came in the doubles flight. Freshman Corinne Prost teamed up with senior Sydney Delp for an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles, pulling out clutch points in a closely contested match.

At No. 3 doubles, junior Dana Grace Buck and freshman Madline Bissett were 8-6 winners.

Two singles matches turned into marathons. Freshman Julia Formentin went the distance in a 4-6, 6-1, 12-10 loss at No. 6 singles. Delp also pushed her singles foe to the limit, eventually losing by a score of 6-2, 4-6, 10-8.
