Chargers' Adi Sysum earns first team All-G-MAC honors as 2025 awards announced

2025 G-MAC Volleyball All-Conference Teams

As Hillsdale College prepares to continue its G-MAC Tourney run this afternoon and extend its season further, the Chargers volleyball team also celebrates a senior who earned high honors from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference as the league announced its yearly volleyball awards on Friday.

Adi Sysum was recognized as a first team All-Conference honoree by the G-MAC, Hillsdale's lone representative on the team. Sysum has had a stellar final campaign for the Chargers, hitting .379 to rank second in the G-MAC in hitting percentage, while leading the Chargers in kills with 225 and finishing second on the team and ranking in the top 10 in the G-MAC in blocks per set with 0.85.

A captain and a leader for the Chargers, Sysum has been at the center of a strong closing finish to the season for Hillsdale, who have gone 8-1 since the Midwest Regional Crossover. Sysum has eight matches with double-digit kills and 12 matches with four or more blocks in 2025, and set a new career high with 16 kills and seven total blocks in Hillsdale's five-set victory over Walsh on Nov. 7. She also contributed 10 kills and six total blocks in an upset victory over then 25th-ranked Findlay on the road on Nov. 15.  Sysum has twice been recognized as the G-MAC North Division Player of the Week in 2025.

Sysum and the Chargers take on top-seeded Cedarville in the G-MAC Tournament semis today at 4:30 p.m. looking to pull another upset in hostile territory and continue their underdog run in the postseason.
