Chargers down shorthanded Kentucky Wesleyan 7-0 to open G-MAC play with win

Box Score The Hillsdale College women's tennis team made quick work of host Kentucky Wesleyan in its G-MAC opener on Saturday, rolling to a 7-0 victory.

A shorthanded Panthers squad with just three healthy varsity players meant Hillsdale had the points to win the match before it started, and the Chargers didn't drop a set or a game in the four matches that were played out. Ane Dannhauser and Briana Rees partnered for a 6-0 win in the only contested doubles match for Hillsdale, and each took 6-0, 6-0 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Courtney Rittel won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Chargers as well.

Hillsdale is now 7-6 overall, 1-0 in G-MAC play and finishes its conference swing through Kentucky tomorrow with a match at Thomas More at 12:30 p.m.
