The Hillsdale College women's tennis team was dominant on Saturday in a home match against Ursuline, winning all nine matches without losing a single game in a 7-0 victory over the Arrows.
All three of Hillsdale's doubles teams -- the No. 1 team of
Ane Dannhauser and Brianna Rees, the No. 2 team of
Courtney Rittel and
Megan Hackman, and the No. 3 team of
Libby McGivern and
Isabella Spinazze -- all won by 6-0 scores as Hillsdale took the doubles point, and the Chargers won all six singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores to complete the sweep. Dannhauser, McGivern, Rees, Rittel, Spinazze and
Julia Zlateva all recorded singles victories for Hillsdale.
The Chargers improve to 9-6 overall and 3-0 in the G-MAC, and will be in action again tomorrow with a very important conference match against Walsh at 2 p.m. The Chargers and Cavaliers have had competitive matches and been close in the final standings for several years running, so the result of the Sunday showdown could loom large for G-MAC Tourney seeding at the end of the regular season.
