The Hillsdale College Action Shooting team kicked off the 2025 season at home with a United States Practical Shooting Association match on Saturday at the Ailes Action Shooting Range.
In keeping with the program's strong tradition, the Chargers hit the ground running with a solid performance. Two Hillsdale shooters finished in the top 10 overall, with junior
John Beecher placing third in the overall standings and third in the Limited Optics Division. Senior
Joseph Grohs also placed 10th in the overall standings.
Hillsdale had the top two finishers among female shooters, with junior
Kayla Mullin placing first in both the Limited and Limited Lady Divisions, just ahead of teammate
Jianna Coppola, who took runner-up honors in both categories. William Grohs also placed third in the Limited Division for the Chargers.
Hillsdale now prepares for the biggest event on their fall calendar, the Hillsdale College and Springfield Armory Collegiate Championship scheduled to take place at the Ailes Action Shooting Range on Sept. 20 and 21. The Chargers will look to defend the national title they won in the inaugural event last September.
