A dominant start to the 2025 women's cross country season has Hillsdale College sophomore Allison Kuzma already reeling in awards.

Kuzma was recognized as the G-MAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon, earning a weekly conference honor for the second time in her career after also being recognized in track and field as a freshman.

The sophomore dominated the season-opening Hillsdale Cross Country Invite this past Friday, winning the 5K race by over 50 seconds in 18:20.3 to lead the Chargers to a runner-up team finish.

Kuzma came into the 2025 season with high expectations after a strong freshman campaign. She was runner-up at the G-MAC Cross Country championships individually in the fall, and on the track won G-MAC titles in the 5,000m run indoors and 10,000m run outdoors. She finished the 2024-25 school year with an epic run in the 10K at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships, finishing a stunning third in the nation to earn All-American honors as a freshman.

Friday's meet is a sign that Kuzma has picked up where she left off, and continues to move forward as an athlete. Next up for Kuzma and the Chargers is the MSU Spartan Invite this Friday, hosted by Michigan State University. It'll be a chance for Hillsdale to test itself against a strong field of competition as October and the G-MAC Championship meet approaches.
