Chargers add Griffin Ridner-Richard to 2026 signing class

The Hillsdale College men's basketball team's 2026 signing class got stronger last week, as the Chargers added another talented freshman prospect to their squad for the upcoming 2026-27 season.

Griffin Ridner-Richard, a 6-foot-6 forward from Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy in southern Ohio, became the fourth member of the class earlier this month, joining signees Cole Albers, Leland Berg and Cade Dirkse, who had signed letters of intent back in the fall of 2025.

Ridner-Richard will bring more size and versatility on the wing for the Chargers as a strong and skilled player capable of making major contributions at both ends of the floor. The Metro Cincinnati native had an excellent junior campaign for the Eagles, earning Miami Valley Conference Player of the Year honors as well as third-team All-Ohio while leading CHCA to an OHSAA Division 4 district final appearance. He also earned first team All-Conference, All-District and All-Region honors for the Eagles.

A talented athlete, Ridner-Richard also excelled in football at CHCA, starting at quarterback and throwing for over 2,500 yards and 29 touchdowns as a senior while leading the Eagles to a 10-2 record and a OHSAA D4 regional semifinal appearance.

"We are so excited to add Griffin to our Charger basketball program," said Hillsdale College head coach Keven Bradley. "He epitomizes all of the qualities we want in a men's basketball student-athlete.

"He is a competitor with a tireless work-ethic, both on and off the court, a student of the game, and possesses a great skill set that will fit in with our style of play. We look forward to having Griffin in a Charger uniform."
