Hillsdale College men's basketball assistant coach Jackson McLaughlin is hosting community skills training for area basketball players beginning this summer.

The training opportunities are open to first through 12th grade boys and will be individual or small group sessions of 30 minutes to an hour, with an emphasis on skills training and development.

Entering his second season at Hillsdale as an assistant men's basketball coach, McLaughlin has a strong pedigree in the game, working at Division I University of Iowa as a student coach from 2020 to 2024, and also spending a year as an assistant coach at Augustana University, a NCAA Division II institution in Sioux Falls, South Dakota before joining the Chargers. Past players McLaughlin has worked with during his career include NBA players Keegan and Kris Murray, Luka Garza and Joe Wieskamp.
