Hillsdale Goes 0-2 on First Day of Spring Break

Game 2 box score: Grand Valley State 2, Hillsdale 1

The Charger softball team dropped a pair of games to old GLIAC rivals in its first day of its Spring Break schedule in Clermont, Florida Friday morning.

Hillsdale was held to two hits in a 4-0 loss to Ashland in the opener. In the second game, Grand Valley State used a walk-off single to pull out a 2-1 win. Hillsdale now stands at 2-5 on the season.

Jessica Taylor had a double and Madison Stoner had a pinch-hit single against the Eagles.

In the second game, junior Sam Catron singled home Sarah Wojcik for the team's lone run, coming in the third inning. Katie Kish and Sydney San Juan, the top two batters in the order, each picked up base hits.
