The Hillsdale College men's tennis team is bringing in a third talented prospect in the 2025 recruiting class with the recent signing of Jackson Clements this spring.
Clements, a prospect out of Ohio, has had tremendous success for New Albany High School just outside of Columbus, making the OHSAA Division 1 state tournament in singles two consecutive years and reaching the quarterfinal round both times. A two-time All-Ohio honoree and a three-time All-Conference and All-Metro award winner, Clements is serving as team captain for New Albany this spring as a senior and looking for his best season yet. He entered this spring with a 52-14 record in singles playing for New Albany, mostly in the No. 1 singles spot against the toughest opponents available.
The Ohio native's success in both high school and USTA Tournaments has made him a sought-after recruit, with a three-star ranking to Tennis Recruiting Network and impressive numbers both to the Universal Tennis Ranking and the World Tennis Number. He's also been an excellent student in high school, with a 4.0 GPA at New Albany, and is on track to graduate at or near the top of his class this spring. Clements also is an active volunteer, helping to organize the New Albany Thanksgiving Day 4-mile race that gives all its proceeds to the Mid Ohio Food Bank, Life Care Allliance and The New Albany Foundation, with over 1 million dollars donated in the last decade to charity. He's also given back through the "Buddy-Up Tennis" program, as well as working with youth tennis players in his area.
Clements makes Hillsdale's incoming freshman class this fall a three-person class, joining Patrick Cretu (Troy, MI/Birmingham Brother Rice) and Thomas MacDougall (New Hampton, NY/Don Bosco Prep) who signed with the Chargers in November. The trio will be a boost to a young squad with a bright future, as Hillsdale's current seven players on the roster are all either sophomores or freshmen, and have exceeded expectations in a 6-5 start entering conference play this weekend.
