2025-26 CSC Academic All-District women's tennis team
The Hillsdale College men's and women's tennis teams continue to represent the Chargers athletic department well, both on and off the court.
Four members of the Chargers' tennis programs -- three men and one woman -- were recognized by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon with Academic All-District honors, representing impressive achievements both on the tennis court and in the classroom this past season. In order to be considered for CSC Academic All-District honors, an athlete must be either a starter or a meaningful contributor, and carry a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA.Â
Three of those athletes were receiving the honor for the first time, with one repeat honoree from the 2024-25 season, junior
Ellis Klanduch. Klanduch also earned second team All-G-MAC honors for his play in 2025-26, posting an 11-3 record in singles at the 2 through 5 spots and also serving as a cornerstone of Hillsdale's top doubles pairing, going 9-6 while playing exclusively in the No. 1 doubles positions with partners
Ryan Papazov and
Henry Hammond.
Papazov also earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the Chargers for the first time. The sophomore was a top player for Hillsdale, playing at No. 1 singles for much of the season and never lower than third in the lineup, while also pairing with Klanduch at No. 1 doubles and also playing No. 2 doubles at times as well for the Chargers.
Cordero Lopez, also a sophomore and first-time Academic All-District honoree, was a mainstay in the singles lineup for Hillsdale throughout the season, posting a 10-7 record in singles play at 3, 4, 5 and 6 singles while also playing 12 matches at No. 2 and 3 doubles.
On the women's side,
Briana Rees added her first CSC Academic All-District honor to a banner season for the Chargers, including a repeat second team All-G-MAC award. Rees played almost exclusively at No. 2 singles for the Hillsdale women, racking up a 16-13 record as a key part of Hillsdale's lineup, and also played on a nationally-ranked No. 1 doubles team for the Chargers with
Ane Dannhauser, putting up a 19-9 record in doubles play.
All four athletes are elite academically, with cumulative GPAs over 3.5 during their time in college. Klanduch is a history major and Cordero Lopez a financial management major, while Papazov and Rees will declare their majors at Hillsdale this fall.Â
