Chargers' Ane Dannhauser claims G-MAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors (Feb. 2-9)

Ane Dannhauser is off to a dominant start to the spring for the Hillsdale College women's tennis team, and it's starting to get noticed.

Dannhauser, a junior, was named the G-MAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday, the seventh weekly conference honor of her career, and the second in the 2025-26 season.

It's well deserved, coming off a weekend where Dannhauser went undefeated playing both No. 1 singles and doubles for the 4-0 Chargers, and helping Hillsdale to two victories over Goshen and Saginaw Valley State.

On Saturday, Dannhauser took down Goshen's top player, Uliana Dotsenko, in a 6-1, 6-2 romp at No. 1 singles, and got a huge road match victory on Sunday, beating SVSU's Nicoletta Diamantopolous in a rubber match, 7-6 (5), 6-3. The junior also teamed with partner Megan Hackman to win both No.1 doubles matches they played this weekend, 6-2 over Goshen and 7-5 over SVSU.

Those victories furthered an undefeated start to Hillsdale's spring calendar for Dannhauser, who's now won eight straight singles and doubles matches to kick off 2026. The junior also has yet to drop a set in competition this spring.

Hillsdale had high hopes for Dannhauser in her third season, after earning back-to-back first team All-G-MAC honors and the 2024 G-MAC Freshman of the Year award in her first two seasons with the Chargers. She's been even better as a junior, with a 12-3 record in singles and a 9-4 record in doubles so far across fall and spring campaigns. She capped the fall season with Hillsdale's best ever A draw singles run in the ITA Women's Tennis Midwest Regional, reaching the semifinal round and falling only to the top-ranked player in the draw, Eleanor Coleman of Rockhurst.

Dannhauser will look to keep the Chargers rolling this spring, as Hillsdale is back in action at home on Saturday against Purdue Northwest beginning at noon.
