2025-26 CSC Academic All-District Teams

The Hillsdale College men's basketball team continues to produce impressive players on and off the court.

That's shown in the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams, announced on Tuesday afternoon. 

Hillsdale had three players earn Academic All-District honors, including one who received the distinction for the third straight season and another receiving the honor for the second time in his career. In order to be considered for CSC Academic All-District honors, an athlete must be either a starter or a meaningful contributor, and carry a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA.

Senior Ashton Janowski received the honor for the third season in a row, an excellent capstone to a strong four-year career at Hillsdale, while his senior partner in the backcourt for the Chargers, Cole McWhinnie, also received the distinction. In addition, junior Garrett Bolte also received the honor for the second time in his career, after earning it following the 2023-24 season as well.

All three players played major roles for the Chargers on the court this season, with all three starting at least 26 of Hillsdale's 29 contests and averaging 25 or more minutes a game. Janowski was Hillsdale's leading scorer in points per game with 11.2 and also finished with career highs in assists and steals, while McWhinnie took over as the team's point guard and led Hillsdale in assists (99) and 3-pointers made (47). Bolte was a key part of Hillsdale's post rotation, starting 26 games at power forward, averaging a career-best 7.1 points per game and setting new single-season highs in rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.

The trio legitimately excels in the classroom as well for the Chargers, with Janowski and McWhinnie preparing to graduate with honors this spring, and Bolte well on his way to joining them in 2027.
