Janowski earns All-G-MAC honors; Meyer named Elite 26 winner for third consecutive season

2025-26 G-MAC Men's Basketball Awards

Two of the Hillsdale College men's basketball team's senior stalwarts will finish their careers with conference honors, the G-MAC announced on Friday afternoon.

Senior guard Ashton Janowski was named to the 2025-26 All-G-MAC second team, his first postseason conference honor, while fellow senior Jacob Meyer was recognized as the G-MAC's Elite 26 recipient for the third year in a row.

A three-year starter for the Chargers, Janowski took on a leadership role on and off the court for Hillsdale in 2025-26, finishing as the top Charger in points per game (11.2). Janowski scored in double-figures in 16 of his 26 games, including a 21 point effort to help Hillsdale upset rival Findlay on the road on Jan. 22, 78-72. He also got his first buzzer-beating game-winner against Ohio Christian on Nov. 22, hitting the go-ahead jump shot with a second to play in a 74-72 win. A key contributor in all four seasons with the Chargers, Janowski played in 109 games with 84 starts for Hillsdale and finishes with 942 points, 159 rebounds, 165 assists and 58 steals for his career with the Chargers. His smooth fadeaway jumper that seemed to drop against any defender will be long remembered at Hillsdale.

Janowski also has been an excellent student for the Chargers, and is on track to graduate with honors this spring. He twice earned CSC Academic All-District honors and was a member of the NABC Honors Court in 2024-25, achievements he should earn again in March as awards season continues.

Meyer, meanwhile, is in rare company as one of only two athletes in G-MAC history to receive the Elite 26 award in the same sport three seasons in a row. The Elite 26 award is one of four major honors handed out every season by the G-MAC in men's basketball, and is modeled after the NCAA's Elite 90 award, going to the athlete with the highest cumulative GPA among all participants in the G-MAC Championship in a given sport.

A financial management major, Meyer boasts an impressive 3.98 cumulative GPA made even more outstanding by the academic rigor of the institution and the rarity of a 3.9 or above GPA for all Hillsdale College students, athletes and non-athletes alike. Meyer also is on track to graduate with honors this spring.
