2026 CSC At-Large Academic All-District Teams
In a year of historic milestones for the Hillsdale College men's golf program on the course, including the program's first All-American since 1962 and first repeat appearance in the NCAA DII Golf Super Regional, the Chargers also kept a high standard in the classroom as well.
Two Hillsdale golfers stood out both on the course and in the classroom in 2025-26, as junior
Oliver Marshall and sophomore
Jackson Piacsek each earned Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators, announced on Tuesday.
In order to be considered for CSC Academic All-District honors, an athlete must either play for his team in a majority of regular-season events or the conference championship event, and carry a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA. CSC Academic All-District honors are awarded through the Academic All-America® program, started in 1952. Since then, CSC has honored thousands of deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions with these elite Academic All-America® scholar-athlete honors.
Marshall and Piacsek were both integral parts of the lineup for a Hillsdale squad that captured the Malone-Glenmoor Invite title, took runner-up honors at the UIndy Invitational, and earned the team's fourth NCAA DII Super Regional berth in program history, and the first in back-to-back seasons.
A junior, Marshall returned this season from a devastating series of injuries that kept him out for his entire sophomore campaign, shaking off the rust and serving as one of the Chargers' most consistent golfers. Marshall played in all 10 events in 2025-26 for Hillsdale, with a 73.9 scoring average, and ranked in the top 50 in the region among individuals. He posted five top 15 finishes for the the Chargers, and hit a high-water mark for his collegiate career by winning individual medalist honors at the Music City Invitational in March. Marshall birdied the final hole of the 72-hole event to finish at six-under and take the title, his first-ever collegiate championship and Hillsdale's record-setting third medalist honor of the season.
Along with Marshall, Piacsek was another stalwart for the Hillsdale College golf team in 2025-26, playing in all 10 events as well with dependable finishes and a 74.0 scoring average that nearly matched his teammate. Piacsek was especially important in the spring for the Chargers, placing in the top 10 in three of Hillsdale's final five events to help the Chargers secure an NCAA Super Regional berth. Among those finishes was a tie for ninth place at the G-MAC Championships in April that led Hillsdale in that event.
Both athletes also excelled in the classroom, maintaining a GPA well above the 3.5 required to earn the honor. Both players are slated to return for the 2026-27 season and should be among the team's leaders and top players, with significant collegiate experience to draw on for the upcoming campaign.
