For the ninth time in 10 seasons, the Hillsdale College men's golf team proved to be one of the top NCAA DII teams in the classroom as well as on the golf course.

The Chargers were one of 65 NCAA DII men's golf teams to earn the Golf Coaches Association of America's PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award for the 2026 season, announced earlier in August and one of just 26 programs in NCAA DII to earn the Presidents Special Recognition as well for excellent performance academically.

In order to receive the Team Academic Award, programs must post a combined cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher across all team members, and a Presidents Special Recognition distinction requires a 3.5 cumulative GPA or better. It's an award the Chargers have consistently received since the program was restarted in the 2014-15 season. Hillsdale was helped by strong performances from individuals, as graduate Robert Thompson, junior Oliver Marshall and Jackson Piacsek all also earned All-America Scholar honors from the GCAA earlier in August in a separate release.

Hillsdale's men's golf team is set to begin the 2026-27 campaign less than a month from now, competing in the Central/Midwest Region Preview hosted by Grand Valley State at the Meadows Golf Club in Allendale beginning on Sept. 14.
