Chargers add two freshmen for upcoming 2026-27 season

As the Hillsdale College golf team aims to qualify for the NCAA Central/Midwest Super Regional for a third consecutive season in 2026-27, the Chargers are adding two new talented freshmen to help with that effort.

Both Roman Dammkoehler (La Jolla, CA/Torrey Pines) and Anthony Stouder (Sacramento, CA/Jesuit) hail from the west coast and both are accomplished and skilled players who will compete for a spot in the lineup for the upcoming season.

Dammkoehler is from southern California, in the San Diego metro, and played golf for a dynastic Torrey Pines high school program that's won 10 California state titles in its existence, including one in 2024 with Dammkoehler in the lineup. Dammkoehler played in the CIF state finals three times in high school with Torrey Pines, and also had an impressive and decorated run on a variety of circuits, including finishing in the top 10 in points in the San Diego Junior Golf Association summer season, playing in multiple AJGA events and the Toyota Tour Cup, and competing in both the Junior World Championship and the PGA Junior League National Championship. He's also a strong student, graduating near the top of his class at Torrey Pines and excelling in both honors and AP courses during his time in high school.

Stouder, meanwhile, hails from northern California and Jesuit High School in Sacramento, also a strong and storied program in California high school golf. He excelled for Jesuit, averaging 70.5 strokes per round in 2026 and setting the program's nine hole scoring record with a five-under 31 while also finishing with a low round of 66. Stouder qualified for the CIF State Final as an individual in 2025 and brought his team to the state finals a year later in 2026 with strong play as well. An excellent student, Stouder graduated with highest honors from Jesuit this spring, earned membership in Jesuit's branch of the National Honor Society, and was recognized by the California Scholarship Federation.

Both players will join the Chargers this month and the team kicks off competition in the 2026-27 season in September, beginning on Sept. 14 at the Midwest Regional Preview hosted by Grand Valley State at the Meadows Course in Allendale.
