Miserable weather and high winds played havoc with all of the competing teams at the GLIAC North Invitational over the weekend.

The Charger men's golf team, in just its third competition, finished 13th out of 14 teams at the event, held in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Hillsdale had a team score of 632. Grand Valley State won the event with a 593, with Malone and Wayne State tying for second.

For the third event in a row, Matt Chalberg was the Chargers' low scorer, finishing with a 74 in each round for a two-day total of 148. 

Joe Torres also hit identical marks of 77 on each day, finishing with a 154. Steve Sartore was third on the team with a 78-82--160, while John Burke took fourth on the team with a 170. Cole Benzing made his Charger debut and was fifth on the team with an 87-84--171.

The team competes Monday at the Lawrence Tech Invite in Southfield, Michigan.
