Game 1 box score: T-N 8, HC 1
In Friday's first game between Hillsdale and Trevecca Nazarene, the Trojans held the Chargers to 4 hits in an 8-1 win for the host team in Nashville.
Sophomore Jared Piper drove in Hillsdale's lone run, on a groundout to score freshman Alex Walts in the top of the fifth inning.
The Trojans scored five times in the bottom of the sixth to break open a close game.
Game two was suspended due to rain and will be completed at 4 p.m. Saturday. Trevecca Nazarene held a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the third when the rain returned and the game was halted.

The pitchers from Alderson-Broaddus kept the bats from the Hillsdale College baseball team in check in both ends of a non-league doubleheader in Nashville Thursday.
The Battlers swept Hillsdale by scores of 4-2 and 3-1 as part of Hillsdale's trip through the mid-south part of the country. The Chargers' record stood at 3-7 after the two defeats.
All of the scoring in game one took place in the third inning, with all four of Alderson-Broaddus' runs being unearned. Junior Chris McDonald and sophomore Ethan Wiskur each had RBI in the first game for Hillsdale. Junior pitcher Lucas Hamelink allowed no earned runs in his six innings on the hill.
The Chargers scratched out just two hits in the nightcap. Junior Luke Ortel scored junior Michael O'Sullivan on an RBI triple in the bottom of the third inning for Hillsdale's only offense. Senior Shane Armstrong turned in a solid pitching performance, going seven innings with six strikeouts.
