Chargers Medal at Junior Olympics, Junior World Championships

Hillsdale College hosted the 2026 USA Shooting Shotgun Junor Olympics at the Halter Shooting Sports Education Center from June 25th-30th. Competitors shot either 125 International Trap or 125 International Skeet.
 
In Trap, junior Marin McKinney tied for the highest women's qualification score with 102/125. She finished 2nd in the final to win the silver medal and took Collegiate gold. Junior Lucci Kern tied for 8th but did not make the women's final. Sophomore Roman Barrett had a fantastic match, breaking 113/125 targets and tying for the highest men's qualification score. He had a phenomenal final and earned the men's Junior Olympic National Championship. He also won 2nd place Collegiate and was selected to the USA Shooting Junior Olympic Squad.
 
Sophomore Zach Hinze and incoming freshman Cameron Roberts both competed in the Junior Olympics for International Skeet. Hinze's 109 out of 125 was the 3rd highest qualification score which earned him both a spot in the finals and 1st place Collegiate. Roberts was the 5th bib in the finals after winning a three-way shootoff at 108/125. He shot his way to 1st place in the final after a sudden-death shootoff for gold and silver. He also took silver in the Collegiate category and was selected to the USA Shooting Junior Olympic Squad.
 
At the 2026 ISSF Junior World Championships held in Suhl, Germany, three Hillsdale student-athletes represented the United States. In Women's Skeet, Madeline Corbin broken an impressive 115/125 targets to tie for the 3rd highest score. She finished the final in 6th place. In Women's Trap, Taylor Dale hit 114 out of 125 targets. She was 6th in qualification and finished the finals in 7th place. Ava Downs earned a bronze medal in the Mixed Team event after breaking the 3rd highest score in both qualifications and finals with her partner.
 
Roman Barrett also recently competed in the Massachusetts State Trap Shoot. He brought state championships in Singles, Doubles, All-Around, and High Overall.
